Summary: Essential For Prophet Chart Users

Comment: This book provides an excellent introduction to technical analysis. The author of the book (Tim Knight) is also the inventor of Prophet Charts, a comprehensive technical analysis tool that is available through a number of vendors. Those who use Prophet Charts will benefit most from Knight's hefty but readable volume. Knight spends about two-thirds of the book on technical analysis basics with the other third devoted to tutorials on using the Prophet Charts. The introduction to technical analysis is highly useful and well-written. It lays out a number of basic studies and charting techniques. Tips on how to maximize your use of Prophet Charts are woven seamlessly into the text. Those interested but still uncertain about this book might consider Knight's blog - slopeofhope.com - as a helpful introduction to the author's ability and sensibility. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in trading, especially beginners.

Summary: Chart Your Way with ProphetChart!

Comment: I respect Tim for this ideas on his Slope of Hope site, but I was sorely disappointed with his book. It offers no new insights into technical analysis, but rather is a 400 page advertisement for his charting website. Unless you want a manual on how to use his "ProphetChart" tool, I don't recommend this book. There are plenty of technical analysis books on the market with much more substance.
The one thing I have learned after purchasing this book is to never gratuitously pass-on your respect for a person to what he/she produces (read: Tim Knight's book is a sham)

Summary: Handbook for prophet charts users

Comment: This book is not fairly advertised. It is really a handbook for the author's prophet software. That software is availabe on the Internet as well as through the thinkorswim platform.
In addition to being a handbook it is also a primer on all different kinds of technical analysis, but that seems to be a secondary purpose of the book.
If you use the prophet application and you are a new trader, this books might be for you. Otherwise you won't need this book. Better to read the author's blog instead to get an idea of how one persons trades (for what that is worth).

Comment: Tim Knight's book," Chart Your Way To Profits", is a very informative book about using Profit Charts and technical analysis. The first half of the book focuses on how to use ProphetCharts to it's fullest capacity, the second half is using and applying technical analysis. I have never written a review of a book but I will share one interaction I had with this author. I had a question about ProphetCharts and e mailed him, he returned the answer that day, within a couple of hours!! Tim is extremely energetic (doesn't seem to sleep much) and publishes a great blog,trades,constantly updates ProphetCharts and has helped improve my trading profitability. As for my own credentials, I was a part time market trader for years but turned full time the last two years.

Summary: Great Technial Book - Lots of Prophet Charts Specifics

Comment: Tim Knight does a great job talking about how technical analysis works and what some of the simple to use indicators are. The book does however spend quite a bit of time discussing the specifics of his Prophet Charts software (note, Tim doesn't own prophet anymore).
If you skip the chapters on the software, you'll likely find that this is a great little technical reference. It is an easy read, and very usable on a day-to-day basis. I've profited nicely using some of the basics Tim reviews in the book.
