Comment: If you Like Dr Phil, you'll like this material. I like Dr. Phil's direct approach you never have to guess what he really means. He helps you drill down to the root of things so you know what needs to be changed.

Summary: Hearing is believing

Comment: I had the pleasure of listening to this product while commuting one week. There are some amazing stories pulled from Dr. Phil's past and some wonderful step by step examples for the listener to follow. Dr. Phil is great on the printed page, but hearing him speak is the real deal. James Green, author of "If There's One Thing I've Learned."

Comment: Dr. Phil Getting Real by Dr. Phil McGraw is easy to listen to and filled with excellent advise for becoming a better marriage partner or gaining the confidence to leave an unfixable relationship, and how to tell the difference. Dr. Phil, who is highly qualified in the field of psychology, has the ability to "get down where you live" and talk in plain ( an often explitive four letter words) language so that you know you are not listening to some Ph. D. who is way over your heads. His TV and Radio fame is well-deserved, and he provides here no quick and easy exit or fix for an unharmonious marriage, but some excellent advice of how to proceed to make your situation better and to improve yourself first and then your relationships. We highly recommend this set of CD's for time well-used when you are on the go.

Summary: I know it's a cliche, but it changed my life...

Comment: I listened to this audio book after having a mini-nervous breakdown at my job. I hated everyday of my work but I felt trapped by debt & honor. 'Getting Real' showed me that I needed to make a change in my life to find happiness. You need to make a commitment to yourself to be happy & you have to be willing to sacrifice for happiness. There are many classic Dr. Phil sayings on 'Getting Real' but one statement stood out in my mind. "Are you doing what you're doing today just because you did it yesterday?" That was my life & I sure wasn't "living by design." I made a commitment to myself to leave my office job in six months & I set a deadline. I didn't know what I would be doing but I knew it wasn't going to be office work. I gave myself six months to brainstorm about my life. What did I want? I have now returned to school to obtain a degree in my passion: languages & working with people. "Getting Real" was one of many motivators that I had & it was great to have the support. You can do it too!

Comment: Truly, though all of what Dr. Phil has to say is common sense (with a little stand up comedy thrown in) in this four cassette edition about your life, and although most of what he says you knew somewhere in your heart, you will learn the most incredible things. I thought our relationship (my husband and mine) was good, I can see I was right, but there were so many ways to make it THE relationship that I never even thought about. I truly think this man could run for President. One thing he mentions is passion, having a passion for the things in life that matter most to you (among having other things) and you can just hear the passion in HIS voice, knowing he believes what he is saying, and not just believes it, but wants YOU to know it. Because it's simple. Because you already know it and have to face it sooner or later. Because it will make your life so much easier. Don't struggle emotionally one more minute, just listen to these cassettes together with a partner, alone on your headset, while resting in the bath, and you will absolutely be amazed by the transformation that sets inside of you almost instantly - all good of course. You will also learn some harsh realities, along with a few things you didn't know about Dr. Phil that will surprise you. Best of all, no griping, no grumbling, just listen, and the fee....well, judge for yourself what you would pay a therapist for all this great advice and all of this time. Dr. Phil bills by the heart. Thanks again and again Dr. Phil.
