Editorial Review: Product Description

It's not a question. It is a philosophy to live by. It's Donny Deutsch's motto. And it is the secret possessed by every person with the right stuff?the one-in-a-hundred who gets to the top of their team, their company, their business, their industry.

If there is an assignment or a promotion up for grabs, a client or account looking for new answers, do you know how to go for it? Donny Deutsch built a billion-dollar media business asking himself the basic question, "Why Not Me?" Once the reader asks?and answers?that question, a world of opportunity opens up. It is a tool to motivate people, build a business, and create a business culture.

Often Wrong, Never in Doubt is an inspirational book from one of America's most colorful and exciting entrepreneurs. It's Donny's story. In a fun conversation with the reader, Donny lays out the core principles that propelled him to create tremendous wealth, build a huge and influential business, and become a national personality. Using inside stories of the media, the advertising industry, and a youth spent growing up on the streets of New York, Donny gives the commonsense bottom line that he has learned along the way, broken down into real, relevant, and inspiring lessons that will be useful to everyone from the front-line salesperson to the middle manager to the successful corporate executive. (It's also a useful guide for dating.)

Summary: Awesome book...need tough skin

Comment: If you're in advertising, then I definitely recommended this book. Donny is so down to earth. It's like he's right there talking to you. Lots of profanity, so if you don't care for that...this book is NOT for you. Just a great book. Lots of great advice from a street guy who started on the bottom and worked his way up!

Summary: Ego Deustch....
Date: 2008-07-08 - 1

Comment: This is one of the most boring, predictable and narcissist book I have ever read. What portrays to be a business book is nothing more than an non-objective autobiography of Donny whose anecdotes are not even interesting.

Summary: Looking for business ideas? DON'T waste your time on this book!
Date: 2008-02-15 - 1

Comment: Reading this book is a VERY poor investment of your time! If you're simply a toady and you like sitting in corporate meetings and listing to your exective V.P tell you how wonderful he is, then you'll love this book, otherwise you won't. I bought this book for a buck at a dollar store. After getting halfway through it, I have to admit I doubt I'll finish it. At least your executive V.P. is PAYING you to listen to his egotistical, contradictory ramblings! Even at only a buck, it's mostly just MEGA-egotistical rantings of a guy who "succeeded" by taking over his father's company, big deal! I could keep raking through all the manure on its pages, but by now I doubt I'll find a poney under there after all. Save your buck and buy a book from ANYONE who can is actually interested in communicating business information to you that can help YOU and not just their own ego. Hey, there is a REASON this hard-cover turkey ended up in a dollar store and STILL isn't jumping off the shelves into buyer's hands! IT STINKS!! This author makes L. Ron Hubbard read like Tolstoy!

Summary: Why Not Me?
Date: 2007-05-14 - 5

Comment: The bigger than life advertising bad boy and cable TV host has written a very good book. I started off questioning if I would enjoy what Deutsch had to say, and if the story of his rise to the top would be one of ego.

Yes, he has an ego, but that is what makes him Donny Deutsch. He also has some really useful advice on how to succeed in business.

His personal philosophy of looking at any situation and asking himself "Why Not Me?" is the best part of the whole book. Think about it....people are often riddled with self doubt. If you could put that self doubt aside, you could run full speed into any situation, and thus increase your success rate. Deutsch paints a picture that is doable for the reader to simply ask that three word question when going into the competitive world.

Since reading the book I find myself a big fan of his cable television program. The look inside his mind has shown me the compassionate side of this bigger than life personality.

The book reads well, and you will find it entertaining and useful.
